Flannery Represents UTSA and MOT at PICMET 06
July 8-13, 2006 - Istanbul, Turkey
Dr. William Flannery in Istanbul with another PICMET participant.
Dr. Flannery attended PICMET 06 this year in Istanbul representing UTSA and the College of Business. This year's theme was "Technology Management for the Global Future." PICMET, Portland International Center for Management of Engineering and Technology, is the premier organization for Management of Technology. This annual conference was attended by the world's leading experts who participate in the discussions and set the stage for innovation management.
Our leading expert, Dr. Flannery, exchanged information, reestablished links with old friends, chaired two sessions and presented an abstract. This year the abstract "Key Factors in the Transfer of Technology from Universities in the United States and Implications for Emerging Technology Economies" was authored by Minerva Garcia Delgado, MS MOT Dec 05 and co-authored by Dr. Flannery.
Dr. Flannery chaired the session on Technology Management Education and also the session on Technical Workforce. As Membership Chair of ETMERC (Engineering and Technology Management Education and Research Council), he served as a member on the ETMERC discussion panel. ETMERC is the organization of the heads or their designees of the educational programs and departments in engineering and technology management throughout the world.
Of course, being in such an exotic place as Istanbul, he couldn't resist a cruise on the Bosphorus Strait which separates Europe from Asia. The city of Istanbul is spread across two continents. It was a chance to relax and mingle with the other attendees.
Istanbul is located on two continents: Asia and Europe.
Cruising on the Bosphorus Strait, Dr. Flannery is to right of red flag.
